AMR Research conducted a Web-based survey of 271 companies on their plans for ERP budgets, technology investment priorities, and goals for 2005 and 2006. All respondents are involved in purchasing ERP software within their organization.

Most frequently considered ERP vendors
We asked participants which vendors would be considered for ERP applications during the next year. The leaders are Microsoft Business Solutions, Oracle, and SAP. These are the three major global brands that many companies will always short-list for selection projects. SSA Global and Infor, which round out the top five, have aggressively acquired ERP and other software applications. For the rest of the vendors, it is clear that marketing effort is needed to gain mindshare with companies.
