Я так понимаю вариант, когда клиент выполняет бизнес-логику сам (прямой доступ к приложению), но связь с БД через АОС. Я забыл про такой вариант, когда писал 4 сообщение

Client mode
Client mode defines how the client executes the Axapta application logic.

A Thin client accesses both data and application objects through a connection to an Axapta Object Server and needs no additional access to the SQL Database. The client performs little or no data processing. Instead the processing is performed by the server.

A Fat client accesses application objects through an Axapta Object Server but executes application logic itself and has its own direct connection to the SQL Database. The client handles presentation and functions, and the server manages data and access to it. This requires ODBC and SQL options to be filled in for a fat client configuration but not for a thin client configuration.

Это, насколько я понимаю, единственный вариант толкования термина "толстый клиент"
