If you include a RecId component in an index, the index will be unique by default. If you still set the AllowDuplicates property to Yes, the index is nevertheless treated as unique and a warning is issued to the user if he attempts to insert non-unique values.

Tip
When SQL warnings in the Options dialog (available from the Tools menu) have been enabled, you get this warning: 'Warning: Since unique field [RecId] is part of your non-unique index [<index name>] on table [<table name>], you should consider making the index unique. Microsoft Axapta will create it as being unique.'
