Configure Licenses
Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 licenses are license codes that are entered into the
application. License codes provide a way to activate Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0
components that have been purchased.
Current license information can be seen in the Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0
Client.
Click ADMINISTRATION?SETUP?SYSTEM?LICENSE INFORMATION.

Deciding how many licenses are required for a deployment is always an issue.
License quantities are based on the number of concurrent users. For example, a
scenario where there are 20 unique Web Users, but only 10 are ever logged into
the Enterprise Portal at the same time, only requires 10 Enterprise Portal user
licenses.
It is also important to have sufficient COM+ Client licenses, as Enterprise Portal
operates through the COM+ connection (Business Connector). In general, have
one COM+ license for each Web server in the architecture.
Development Licenses
In addition to license codes for Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 functionality, access
to the Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 development environment is divided into four
different licenses:
• Base Package
• MorphX
